As we approach another Christmas Day we should be truly thankful for what we have in life, when so many in this world know hardship, trouble and worry. At times we take food and warmth for granted, good friends and family too. Let us stop to think of others who are not as fortunate as we are.

Caring God, we bring before You all in our community and town as we anticipate the joy and fellowship of Christmas. We give thanks for the achievements and pray for Your wisdom and guidance in challenges to come.

Father in Heaven, help us to work around, with Your guidance, our complex lives with faith, grace and humility so that we may bring blessing wherever we go.

Caring God, at times it is tempting to give up on life, especially when things become difficult. Help us not to dwell on past mistakes or setbacks but to start again now to look forward with optimism into the future with You.

Lord of care and compassion,
As we bring our prayers to You, in the season of Advent, for the tragic troubles in the Middle East, we continue to go forward with anticipation and love.
God with us, Prince of peace, come with us as we pray for all caught up in the misery and cruelty of war.
Be with us into the loneliness and fear of the unknown.

Heavenly Father, deepen our desire to see Your plan completed for the spiritual growth of all, and for a world at peace in which there is justice for everyone and care for the whole of creation. We pray that we come to realise the flaws in our understanding and lead us in Your ways as we hold the future of Your creation in our hands.

Once again our thoughts and prayers turn to what Remembrance Services mean to us. We bring our prayers, as always, to our Loving Father for peace throughout the world. We give grateful thanks for the many who gave their lives for our freedom.

Loving Heavenly Father, help us to recognise the joy of simple things. There are so many familiar situations that we stop and lean on every day. So familiar that we don’t realise how much we enjoy their comfort and support.

We think especially of those who are alone and are perhaps afraid. Let us find ways to help them, if they are in need.

We pray for the end of atrocities, hardship and cruelty suffered by all ages during the months gone by.

We are fortunate that we can choose to believe in a God who never lets go from one struggle to the next, a friend who is there with us from coffee at daybreak, until we sleep at night.

Caring and Loving God,
Be with us now as we see, day by day, the tragedy and horrors taking place in Turkey and Syria. We bring all those who are suffering, to You in our prayers and those who have lost their lives. Our hearts are full as we see the babies and children in such unbelievable conditions. We also pray for those who work tirelessly as they strive to rescue the many who are trapped. However, to see the joy when little ones and adults are found alive is truly wonderful.
Caring and Loving God be close to each and every one at this time.

We pray for all who are suffering, remembering the little ones who may be too young to understand why they are living in this turmoil and chaos. Caring God, we bring the innocent people of Russia before you also, at this time.
